At this event, hear from distinguished TED Talk & global keynote speaker Sarah Baldeo, who has a passion for sharing her knowledge and inspiring others to practice integrity and accountability. Sarah will be speaking on How to Use Technology to Drive Revenue for Your Small Business. We also have Lawyer and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advocate Andrea Clarke and local entrepreneur Catherine Thomas speaking. The event will be moderated by Spicy Jan, from Tasty Road Trips Inc.
Women's House will be announcing the winner of their Women of Distinction awards.
With women entrepreneurs raising the bar, building new bridges and leading Bruce County’s economy and prosperity we have lots of reasons to celebrate. Sarah Baldeo is an experienced neuroscientist, technologist, corporate strategist and entrepreneur, closing on 20 years of leadership experience. In 2023 Sarah graced more than 50 stages, and gave 24 keynotes, was featured on 960AM radio and most recently nominated for the DMZ 2024 Women of the Year Award & the Top 25 Women of Influence Award. You may have even seen her on TV during the Wimbledon Open Commercials!
Sarah has successfully founded and exited two consulting firms, while helping three companies IPO. A winner of the 2023 Global Business Elites Top 40 Under 40 Awards. Sarah is currently CEO at IDQ Advisory Group, a boutique IT firm founded in 2010. Sarah holds an Executive MBA via University of Toronto, a neuroscience degree from York University and certifications from Princeton, Ryerson and University of Illinois.

Catherine Thomas is a jill of all trades. She worked as an administrative assistant for a couple years in an HR Firm in Montreal, is a photographer, worked at a CrossFit Coach and managed a CrossFit affiliate for a few years before it was shutdown due to COVID. She is currently the owner of Catherine’s Painting an indoor painting business in Saugeen Shores. She started her company in 2016 and worked until the pandemic started. During the pandemic, Catherine enrolled in the Women in Carpentry Program and spent 18 months working as a Carpentry Apprentice. Due to lack of childcare, Catherine is back working for herself and has restarted, with great success, her painting company just over 6 months ago.
Andrea Clarke is an advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Andrea is a Kincardine resident and a practising lawyer with a concentration in family, child protection, and criminal law with offices in Kincardine and Port Elgin. In addition, Andrea is also the current Deputy Mayor in the Municipality.
Andrea has spent several years living overseas and has practiced law in various jurisdictions. She continues to champion inclusivity and equity.
Spicy Jan, a dynamic individual with a passion for business and career coaching, education, culinary tourism and entrepreneurship.
Professionally, Jan is a certified success coach, guiding individuals on their journey to achieve their goals and unlock their full potential. As a dedicated part-time instructor with Conestoga College specializing in business administration and entrepreneurship, Jan imparts knowledge to our next generation of business leaders.
Jan's creativity shines through as a culinary tourism experience designer, blending the love for small towns with big tastes in her business, Tasty Road Trips. She has a keen eye for crafting unique and memorable experiences that showcase the richness of local arts, culture, culinary, agriculture and heritage.
Not content with traditional methods of professional development support, Jan is the creative lead behind an innovative online business membership, the Build it Big Resource Network. This platform serves as a hub for entrepreneurs and professionals to learn, grow and access the supports they desire in business. Jan's commitment to fostering a community of like-minded individuals is evident in the vibrant space she has created.
Away from the hustle and bustle of business, Jan cherishes a simple, uncomplicated rural lifestyle. Her love for small-town living extends to every aspect of her life, from work to daily needs. The Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey are honoured to present this year's deserving recipients with the annual Woman of Distinction and Young Woman of Distinction awards during the 2024 International Women's Day event.
Starting on Friday, March 3 until Monday, March 12, Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to bid on to raise money for their organization. All event proceeds will be donated to the Women’s House. This silent auction is hosted by NPX.
